      舒華忠教授主要緻力于信号與圖像處理的基本方法及其應用、模式識别等方面的研究工作,部分研究取得了重要突破,獲得了一些具有創新意義的研究成果。發表學術論文300餘篇,其中SCI(網絡版)收錄130篇,包括多篇IEEE Transactions系列論文。SCI收錄論文累計他人引用500餘次。目前主持國家自然科學基金3項,973二級課題1項,國家重點研發計劃子課題1項。指導的博士生伍家松獲2009年法國外交部艾菲爾博士獎學金和2010年國家優秀自費留學生獎學金。IEEE學會高級會員,中國圖像圖形學學會醫學影像專業委員會副理事長。2011年獲中華醫學會科技三等獎(排名第二),2012年度獲得山東省科技進步一等獎(排名第二),教育部自然科學獎二等獎(排名第一),2012年7月被法國政府授予“棕榈教育騎士”勳章。2015年獲得中華醫學科技獎二等獎(排名第二);2016年獲得山西省科技進步二等獎(排名第二);2017年獲得國家科技進步獎二等獎(排名第三)。
